Two words: grill smoke. If the burger joint you’re about to eat at doesn’t have grill smoke billowing from the roof, then you’re at the wrong place for a good burger. Lucky for you, I can recommend a place that always has plenty of grill smoke billowing from it’s roof – Bubba’s Gourmet Burghers.
By now you know that nothing makes me happier than eating a juicy, sizzling, burger straight off the grill. What makes me even happier is when that burger is topped with a variety of fixin’s, and served next to a side of fresh-cut fries. In my humble burger-loving opinion, if you have a delicious burger placed on a generous pile of toppings next to a side of fresh-cut fries you just mastered The Burger Trifecta.
The burger gods must be proud of longtime Pittsburgh radio DJ Bubba Snider, (obviously, the owner of Bubba’s), for cracking the code to create not one, but several burger creations, that have exceed The Burger Trifecta litmus test. Just recently Bubba’s was awarded the 2016 Readers’ Choice Gold Award for Best Hamburger (Independent) in Southwestern Pittsburgh by Trib Total Media so they must be doing something right cause you know how hard it is to please yinzers.
Here’s an interesting tidbit, Bubba learned about the meat business from helping his father, Ed, run the family butcher shop. It makes sense as to why the burgers at Bubba’s are so tasty – there’s a bit of tradition behind them. Not only that, but all the meat used to make the burgers is a blend of prime meats that are steroid and antibiotic free.
By far my favorite burger served at Bubba’s is the Bubba Burgher. There are absolutely no veggies on this burger – just massive amounts of cheese and two strips of bacon. I love breaking off the warm, melted cheese that surrounds the burger and eating it with my fries. Just look at all that cheese! Oh, so good.
