Perdomo Reserve Champagne Sun Grown Review

Perdomo Reserve Champagne Sun Grown

It’s been a rainy summer here in Pittsburgh so I haven’t been able to do many cigar reviews. Today it cleared up, finally, and I decided to smoke something that I’ve kept “simmering” in the humidor for awhile. I love me some Perdomo cigars, especially the sun grown ones, so I pulled out a Perdomo Reserve Champagne Sun Grown maduro. This stick is dynamite because it’s absolutely blasting with flavor!

If you’ve had a Perdomo Champagne before then you know the quality, and Nicaraguan taste that comes with it. The sun grown version puts a twist on the classic, intoxicating taste by having the Nicaraguan long-filler and binder wrapped in Connecticut wrapper. And with that, BOOM it’s bursting full-flavor to be sure. You get a strong earthy, leathery taste that lingers on your tongue. The draw on this puppy is so smooth that I can actually hear the air being pulled through the cigar – it’s an absolutely effortless draw. A bonus is that the cigar is not spongy at all – it’s built solid from foot to cap. In fact, I’ve never had a spongy cigar experience with a Perdomo. The color and shape is spot on, and the burn is a thin, even line (exactly what you want). I’m not big on bands that are oversized but this band looks perfect on the color of this cigar.

I hate it when I have to fool around with cigars that draw poorly and need multiple re-lights. It totally takes the enjoyment out of the cigar. You don’t have to worry about any of that with this stick which is a huge plus in my book. CONSUME REVIEW REPEAT gives the Perdomo Reserve Champagne Sun Grown maduro a 10 out of 10 explosions of flavor!
